Operational Core is a web-based software application codebase designed to be customised and hosted as a single-tenant, dedicated deployment.
It consists of customisable modules and common building blocks.
It is on its way to becoming a full ERP/MRP system, but we are first focusing on providing unique features that drive internal change and improvements.
Customisable modules
There are philosophies, notions and best practices that have arisen through time: Lean; Just-in-time manufacturing (JIT), and; the Toyota Production System (TPS). A typical manufacturer benefits from adopting at least some of them. However, manufacturers have varying processes which makes adoption of off-the-shelf software solutions challenging.
Operational Core includes a set of ready-to-customise modules which support efficient operations and continuous improvement.
These modules have been built with the intention of being extended and customised as required. This means descriptive code, simple transparent logic and the favouring of generalisability over specificity.
Common building blocks
Fully custom modules enable our clients to unlock workflows and efficiencies that aren’t available to their competitors. While implementations, business logic and data flows vary between custom modules, many of the building blocks required are the same.

Validation infrastructure that supports standard and custom rules, with clear, user-friendly feedback.
Dynamic document generation
HTML templates and live data rendered into PDFs for emails, reports and production labels, with a full generation history for compliance.
File storage
Secure storage for user uploads and generated files, with clear retention and dynamic access policies.
Automated printing
Integration with PrintNode (subscription required) for reliable, automated printing of any PDF from networked printers.
Automated emails
HTML templates populated with live data, sent automatically and logged for auditability.
Search
Unified search across all entities, with permissions-aware results.
Notifications
A notifications centre keeps users up to date on changes and required actions, with device-native push notifications for visibility.
Comment threads
Discussion threads attached to any entity, with permissions defined by the parent module, support for file attachments, and @mentions.
Image galleries
Galleries for images and video attached to any entity.
Change logs
Transparent, time-stamped history of changes to each record, including the data changes and the user who made them.
